Services

Photos

I treat your photographs with the care and attention they deserve. Every image I scan is colour corrected and is scanned using professional scanners to bring out the best in your memories, ensuring they look vibrant and true-to-life.

My scanning service ensures that each photo is carefully digitized, locking in the colours and details so they're protected for future generations. You simply gather your photos, and I'll handle the rest. I've worked hard to make the process to be convenient, affordable, and hassle-free, giving you peace of mind that your memories will last a lifetime.

Resolution

All photos are scanned at 600 dpi. This resolution is plenty high enough for you to re-print them if you wanted. They can be scanned at higher resolutions by request, but this will result in higher prices, so please contact me about this and ask.

Organized the Way You Want Them

When I return your scanned image files, they're neatly placed into clearly labeled digital folders for easy navigation. Here's how it works:

  • Each image file is sequentially numbered by the album, envelope, box, carousel etc. you gave them to me in.
  • If you labeled your photo albums, envelopes, boxes, carousels etc. then the digital folders will be named with those labels. For example, if an envelope is labeled "Family Vacation 1968", then all the photos in that envelope will be in a digital folder named with the exact same label — this is free of charge.
  • If your items are not labeled, I'll still keep your collection separated and do my best to assign folder names that help you match the digital files with the originals — this is also free of charge.
  • Want your photos sorted into broader categories (like "Vacations," "Weddings," "Childhood")? I'm happy to offer this custom organization service.

How To Start Scanning Your Photo Collection

Photo Albums

I can scan many different types of photo albums from sleeved, or sticky, or vintage photos albums and scrapbook formats. From old to new I can handle them all.

Organized the Way You Want Them

The most important family photographs tend to be put into photo albums to protect them. The photos there are put into the albums in a very specific order. This is why I have made my scanning process work with your way of organizing. The way you organized your albums, exactly as you have them, is the way I will scan them in that order. I will return them exactly as you gave them to me. What you'll receive back for every album will be a digital folder where every photo in the album has been scanned into an image file and put into that digital folder for that album only. Also, every image will be numbered sequentially in the order you gave them to me.

Stuck or Fragile Photos

If there are photos which are too stuck to be safely removed without damaging the photos. Don't worry I have you covered. I can scan the whole page and crop the individual photos out. This will use the Scan Whole Album Page price which you can see on the Price page.

Are Photos Safe in Photo Albums?

If you are wondering if your photos are safe in a photo album, the answer is possibly yes, if you are making an effort to take good care of them. They will certainly last longer if you keep them out of the sunlight, and in a temperature-controlled room.

If you want me to remove the photos and scan them then place them into archival photo storage boxes, then I can do this as well. These boxes are specifically manufactured to protect your photos for as long as possible. They are made from acid-free paperboard to give maximum protection to your precious photos. These boxes will also allow for you to save a lot of space instead of storing bulky photo albums or scrapbook. Please contact me about this service and I will be happy to talk you through the process and give you an estimate if you want.

Scrapbooks/Project Life

Do you have scrapbooks or Project Life albums? I can scan all these types of scrapbooks from sleeved, sticky, or any other scrapbook formats. From old to new I can handle them all.

Scrapbooks are more than merely photo albums. They are collections of cherished memories. Put together with creativity and love. From your kid's first artwork to your family reunion snapshots. These books tell stories that span a lifetime. Unfortunately, time isn't kind to scrapbooks. Pictures fade, the glue breaks, and keepsakes fall out and get lost. This is why you need to scan them to protect them forever. At Every Picture a Memory my scrapbook scanning service offers an easy and affordable way to preserve these treasures forever.

Organized the Way You Want Them

Scrapbook pages are placed in a very specific order. This is why I have made my scanning process work with your way of organizing. The way you organized your scrapbooks, exactly as you have them, is the way I will scan them in that order. The pages will be returned exactly as you gave them to me. What you'll receive back for every scrapbook will be a digital folder where every page in the scrapbook has been scanned into an image file and put into that digital folder for that scrapbook only. Also, every image will be numbered sequentially in the order you gave them to me.

Resolution

All pages are scanned at 300 dpi. They can be scanned at higher resolutions by request, but this will result in higher prices, so please contact me about this and ask.

I take special pride in my negative scanning services. My scans are exquisite, and I hope you enjoy them as well. Photo Restoration

I have worked on many photos over the years and have been using photo editing software since the early 90s. I have fixed discolouration, damaged photos, and all sorts of problems. While some photos are just too damaged to repair, most of the time I have been able to fix my past client's photos back to their original glory.

If you have the original photos then it is best to start by scanning the originals before I start to restore the photo. A lot of damage can be removed by the scanner making it cheaper for you overall. If you do not have the original this is fine, I can easily work with the image files.
